NAFA Fashion alumna Annie Chua is a three-time recipient of the prestigious Singapore Star awards for Best Costume Design and a three-time winner of the Proud Awards under Singapore's national media network, MediaCorp.
Chua has been working in the television industry as a fashion stylist and costume designer for the past 25 years. Her passion for fashion has resulted in creating unparalleled stage costumes and wearable art pieces for local top celebrities such as Zoe Tay, Fann Wong, Felicia Chin, Kym Ng and Christopher Lee.
She has also served as the head stylist for headliner events such as the Renci Charity Show, National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Charity show, Superband, Singapore Idol, Star Search, S-POP, Star Awards, Hey Gorgeous, and more.
Chua was selected by award-winning directors, Royston Tan and Kelvin Tong to be the head stylist for the local dialect drama Eat Already? 吃饱没 Seasons 1 & 2. In 2018, she was invited to style Vancouver-based singer Wanting Qu during her performance in Singapore, as well as Miss Kerrie Anne Greenland, who starred in Les Miserables. She has also collaborated with international artistes, including Taiwanese singer, Milk, for his first solo ep, and was invited by Hong Kong rock band BEYOND, to style them for its "Beyond Next Stage Live 2008" concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Besides her core duties as an event stylist, Chua was also invited to star in fashion television programs such as Fashion Refabbed and Beyond the Cameras as judge and mentor for fashion competition contestants and young designers. As a principal designer at MediaCorp, Chua is now committed to mentoring and nurturing the next generation of designers for television production.
