NAFA is excited to announce the application call for the NAFA Studios @ Cité internationale des arts Residency Programme (CRP). NAFA first established its two artist studios at the Cité internationale des arts in 1998 and 1999. Since then, the studios have housed NAFA-affiliated artists, including numerous Cultural Medallion recipients such as Han Sai Por, Lim Yew Kuan, Tan Choh Tee, Chng Seok Tin, and Lim Tze Peng, and younger artists such as Tay Bak Chiang and Quek Kiat Sing. Over 25 years, the studios have welcomed more than 70 artists.  

We warmly welcome Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists who are passionate about their craft with various backgrounds and disciplines to apply. Join the residency to cultivate your artistic practices and foster connections with international artists and creatives.

What is Covered?

 
The CRP will provide awardees with 100% subsidy of a studio apartment (30 sqm) in Paris. The studio comprises of one large room off an entrance, with a partitioned sleeping area, kitchenette and a bathroom.

When Can You Apply?

 

The application is open all year round and applicants should apply at least six (6) months before the intended residency start date and buffer ample time for visa approval (if applicable). The applicant can choose to do a residency of two (2) months based on the following dates subject to availability:

Who Can Apply?

 

NAFA staff, alumni, Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists residing in Singapore with 5 years of art practice experience are welcome to apply.

You can apply as an individual artist or a collective of up to two (2) artists with a primary applicant who can undertake responsibility. The co-resident must meet the eligibility criteria and attributes set out for the CRP and pay an additional monthly fee according to the co-residency rates set by Cité internationale des arts.
