What is Supported?
The SPA supports projects that raise NAFA’s profile and demonstrate innovation and relevance to local and global issues, culture and heritage.
Competitions and Showcases
For projects that accomplish the following:
- Respond to a local or internationally acclaimed competition
- Respond to a local or international arts or design festival
- Respond to a local or international arts or design event open call for a showcase or performance
Research and Innovation
For projects that accomplish the following:
- Create new knowledge through investigation and deep inquiry into creative practices and the creative arts landscape
- Address local or global problems, like issues to do with an ageing population, sustainability or the environment
- Instigate innovation and generate new insights
Community and Placemaking
For projects that achieve the following:
- Engage communities meaningfully through arts and design
- Promote inclusivity and diversity
- Bring communities together and enrich the greater NAFA community
The award is capped at S$25,000 per project, and projects may receive full or partial funding depending on scale and complexity. Funds can be used to cover the professional fees of personnel involved and any material costs.
When Can You Apply?
Application is open all year round. Up to three projects will be awarded each year.
Who Can Apply?
Staff, alumni and nominated students with projects that fit into a relevant category are welcome to apply.
You can apply as an individual artist/designer, or as a collective of up to four artists with a primary applicant who can undertake responsibility for the group.
