Internationally acclaimed fashion designer Max Tan has achieved commercial success with his label, MAX.TAN. Tan graduated top of his cohort from NAFA’s Diploma in Fashion Design in 2006 and MAX.TAN has become a global brand with collections featured in Vogue Paris and Vogue Italia. Tan’s numerous accomplishments is a testament to his talent. Most recently, he was awarded the NAFA Entry Scholarship (Degree) in 2019 where he enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Fashion course and was selected as Best Graduate in his cohort. Tan first catapulted onto the world stage at the Singapore Fashion Week in 2007 and went on to place as second runner-up at the Singapore Fashion Designers Contest later that year. Following this success, MAX.TAN was the first Asian label to showcase at the prestigious Modefabriek in Amsterdam and subsequently won second place at the China Fashion Creation Contest 2010. With more than a decade of design prowess under his belt, Tan continues to evolve and take his brand to greater heights, with his label now represented by Boon Paris. Adding to a running thread of career milestones, Tan was commissioned by Singapore International Festival of Arts to present a conceptual fashion show, on top of conceiving the costumes for the entire theatre production. Tan continues to nurture the next generation of young talents as a part-time lecturer at his alma mater, with an active involvement in NAFA’s Scholars Give Back Series in 2021 and 2022.
